Frequently Asked Questions

FAQs

Have questions about your eye care or what to expect at Cwmfelin Opticians? We’ve got you covered. Below, we’ve answered some of the most common questions we hear from our patients.

What is an independent optician?

An independent optician is a locally owned practice, not part of a large chain. At Cwmfelin, we’re deeply connected to our community. This independence allows us to prioritise your eye health and comfort over corporate targets, offering flexible, patient-focused care with a personal touch.

How often should I get an eye exam?

We recommend an eye exam every two years for most adults, as advised by the NHS, to monitor vision and eye health. Children should have annual exams to support their development, and those with certain conditions (e.g., diabetes or a family history of glaucoma) may need more frequent checks. Our optometrists will tailor a schedule to your needs after your visit.

How long will it take to get my glasses?

Most glasses are ready within 7–14 days, depending on your prescription and lens type. We work with trusted labs to ensure quality and will keep you updated on the progress. If you need your glasses sooner, let us know, and we’ll do our best to accommodate.

Can you repair or adjust my glasses

Yes, we offer repairs and adjustments for glasses, whether purchased from us or elsewhere. From tightening screws to realigning frames, our team can often fix minor issues on the spot. Pop in or book a quick appointment, and we’ll have your glasses feeling comfortable again.
